Spotlight: Mt. Airy Art Garage

Over the past four years the East Mount Airy Neighbors Community Fund has given out over $348,000 in grants via the Philadelphia Foundation.  This year we are celebrating nine incredible organizations and giving out over $90,000.

Mt. Airy Art Garage, (MAAG), is a nonprofit Arts Hub founded and driven by a dynamic group of professional artists. The organization provides communal space for creativity, collaboration, and self-actualization, while utilizing creative expression as an instrument for social change

The organization also serves as an incubator for professional and emerging artists.Through its “Community of Pride & Literacy” project, MAAG will engage students at Eleanor C. Emlen School in creating original drawings and murals which complement (not “complements”) the school’s language arts curriculum.

Check out all the programs and events available though MAAG here.
