Our popular community festival, presented jointly by EMAN and WMAN, has been going strong for almost 50 years! Family-friendly and with something for everyone, the event will take place on Saturday, May 5th, at the beautiful Cliveden of the National Trust, on the 6400 block of Germantown Avenue. (Rain date May 6th.) The hours have been extended this year; we’ll start at 10:00 and close at 6:00. There will be a little old and a little new, adding up to a great day of vendors, food trucks, live performances and a special Kids’ Zone. New this year: a beer garden!
But this big festival doesn’t appear by magic every May. It takes a team, and the team is urging you to get involved. We need volunteers before, during and after the event. From set-up early Saturday morning, to clean-up at closing, and all day in between, there’ll be something that needs your help. Join us for the day, or for an hour or 2. We’ll have forms that students can bring to their schools, showing their community service hours, for students who need those. Please visit the event website ( www.mtairyday.org), click on “volunteer info”, and sign up.
