May Fest at the Lutheran Seminary will take place on Saturday, May 22nd on the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia campus (7301 Germantown Ave.), from 1 till 5 pm. Join us under the tent for food & refreshments (including a craft beer tasting), live music & kids' activities. Tickets are available in advance online (adults $25, kids under 10 $5) at www.ltsp.edu/mayfest, or by calling 215-248-7339. Tickets the day of the event are $30 for adults, $10 for kids under 10. The event is co-sponsored by LTSP, EMAN, Brewers Outlet & Trolley Car Diner, & the proceeds will benefit LTSP and EMAN. The party will take place rain or shine, (it’s a big tent!). On Tuesday, May 25th, the Mt. Airy Farmers Market will debut on the William Allen Plaza at LTSP. Many community organizations have been working to bring this weekly Farm to City market to our shopping district & it will be a weekly event, every Tuesday from 3-7 pm. Art Jam is back! Many of us remember this fun celebration of our neighborhood, and it’s coming back the weekend of June 4th & 5th. First Friday will kick things off with lots of activity and live music. The main event is on Saturday June 5th --- a juried art show; local crafters, artists & musicians; kids’ activities. The event will take place rain or shine, on Germantown Avenue between Mt. Pleasant and Allens Lane --- We join the Mt. Airy Business Ass’n in urging you to come eat, drink & shop Mt. Airy! Quintessence Theatre Group’s premiere production, Shakespeare’s Measure forMeasure, continues through May 30th at the Sedgwick Theater. Performances take place Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 pm, and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $25/$15 seniors/ $10 students. Quintessence will focus its repertoire on classics, and hopes to become a regular part of the Mt. Airy art scene; they need our support in order to make this happen. EMAN’s Annual Meeting will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, June 1st, in Hagan Amphitheater on the Lutheran Seminary campus. Elections to the Board of Directors will take place, and our featured speaker this year is DistrictAttorney Seth Williams. The public is invited. Light refreshments will be served.
