This vital committee is committed to protecting and improving the condition of housing in East Mt. Airy, and to providing support for residents when zoning or land use changes occur in the neighborhood. Special attention is focused on abandoned buildings and nuisance businesses. The committee meets with neighbors when concerns arise. The committee will lend support or object to projects and/or proposals, consistent with the community’s interests, and will appear at zoning hearings where appropriate.
EMAN holds zoning meetings at which applicants for variances present their plans to the organization & to near neighbors, (as required by ZBA procedures) on the 3rd Monday of the month, at 7 PM, at 7165 Germantown Ave. (If there is no property in question, a meeting will not take place that month.)
The EMAN Membership Committee’s charge is to increase the membership base of the organization through outreach efforts which increase the visibility of the organization.
