EMAN COMMITTEES
ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
Chair: Lou Incognito
The Advocacy Committee addresses issues that affect our community, and works on behalf of the organization and the neighborhood's interests to make our voice heard at public hearings and meetings, and through letter-writing when appropriate. Working with other EMAN committees, this committee is charged with weighing in on policies that are unacceptable to the community, and/or where the Board believes EMAN has a responsibility to voice its position on behalf of the community.
HOUSING/LAND USE & ZONING COMMITTEE
Chair: Derek S. Green, Esq.
This vital committee is committed to protecting and improving the condition of housing in East Mt. Airy, and to providing support for residents when zoning or land use changes occur in the neighborhood. Special attention is focused on abandoned buildings and nuisance businesses. The committee meets with neighbors when concerns arise. The committee will lend support or object to projects and/or proposals, consistent with the community's interests, and will appear at zoning hearings where appropriate.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The EMAN Membership Committee's charge is to increase the membership base of the organization through outreach efforts which increase the visibility of the organization.
MT. AIRY DAY COMMITTEE
2010 Co-chairs: Beth Hagovsky & Janet Amato
Mt. Airy Day, a community festival, takes place annually on the first Saturday in May. The committee is alternately chaired by East and West Mt. Airy Neighbors. The committee is responsible for all preparation required for the production of this event, including marketing, promotion and organization.
SCHOOLS COMMITTEE

Formerly a joint committee of EMAN and WMAN, a schools committee is about to be re-formed, to support the public elementary schools in East Mt. Airy (Emlen and A. B. Day Schools). More information soon.
SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE

This new committee will work on planning our annual fundraiser/dance party, & other events proposed/approved by the Board.
